"There is a depth of truth, this depth of being that wants itself known, felt, expressed, met. It makes you want to soar, to fly on eagle wings, to master your own dreams, to find true freedom. To create a masterpiece of life. Take all the pieces of life and create a new quilt. One that shines with love and light."

Every Blade of Grass

“God, I can push the grass apart
And lay my finger on thy heart”
                                                                    Edna St. Vincent Millay

That verse speaks to my soul for I feel God in every blade of grass, in the soft warmth of the dirt as I stand in it with my bare feet, in the gift of the sun, in the glory of the rainbow and the crash of the sea. God is even within the smallest comfort of our homes, the things that inspire us, our senses, our life---

God is everywhere. If we stop and take a moment to see and feel, all there is in life, we will realize God created the earthly pleasure just for our enjoyment. For our pleasure, contentment and happiness during our stay on earth as we learn the lessons of love needed to become who God wants us to be.

Today the sun is shinning, the sky is blue, and a gentle breeze blows and stirs the bare tree limbs. The woodpeckers are stealing the hummingbird nectar, as large flocks of sparrows, doves, finches and other birds share the bird feeder. All is peace and contentment.

What a marvelous, wonderful world! How can we not know all is God?

Then “God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.”

Genesis 1 : 31

Happy Valentines Day
May every day of life be filled with love.

In Whose Glory?

“Whoever you are! Motion and reflection are especially for you;
The divine ship sails the divine sea for you.
Whoever you are! You are he or she for whom the earth is solid and liquid,
You are he or she for whom the sun and moon hang in the sky,
For none more than you are present and the past.
For none more than you is immortality.”

                                          Walt Whitman (Leaves of Grass)

Each of us is important to the whole of the universe, each breath for a purpose, each thought, action or idea combines to complete the turning of the world. If we stop a moment and see ourselves as that important part that we play in completing this world, we will realize we never need to too degrade our lives or look down on ourselves.

We are God’s children and share his many blessings. If we remember this and look outward with pride in ourselves, and love toward others, we will bring our goodness and joy out to share, like sunshine and flowers.

When we share our true selves without being clever or scheming, nor hiding our true feelings and beliefs, we can live honestly and openly. Then we never need to worry about “what others think of us”, because we know our part in the whole and can live it with joy!

Live the joy of knowing the Sun and Moon hang in the sky for you.

Early morning sunrises, pink, gold and silver, mountains standing purple against the sky, sunshine warming the land, birds soaring in joyous flight, evening shadows caressing as night falls.

God’s perfect world!

Enjoy----relax---Let yourself Be!

Peace and Joy to All

In gratitude I dedicate this day and every day to God's ways. May I rise above the world and abide in that glorious sunrise where the eagle flies. Find me a peaceful place in natures majesty and there I will find joy. To sail away to the island of my dreams-to fly on those eagle wings--The eagle soaring on high--wings spread to the light--power and control of it's life--Joy in knowing! Knowing that divine light is always there at a moments thought to check it's fall and reach out again to touch the sky, feeling the bliss of God's complete love. God's complete love for all of us, every creature, every person.

Christmas

" If, as Herod, we fill our lives with things, and again with things: If we consider ourselves so unimportant that we must fill every moment of our lives with action, when will we have the time to make the long, slow journey across the desert as did the Magi?  Or sit and watch the stars as did the shepherds?  Or brood over the coming of the child as did Mary?  For each one of us, there is a desert to travel.  A star to discover.  And a being within ourselves to bring to life."

Merry Christmas, and God bless us, God bless us every one!

Decembers Gifts

In December we have so much to be thankful for…December brings gifts of sharing and caring and love. Winters chill brings a special treat of cozy fires, and hot chocolate, happy laughter and voices raised in cheer and blessings, smiling faces as you scurry in the hustle and bustle of searching for that perfect gift, cherished customs, ice skating on the pond, children laughing in their winter play, The choir singing “Oh Holy Night”, the Christmas lights and beautiful decorations,

the peace of the still meadow glistening with snow

                                               the awesome night sky

and the miracle of the babe born in a stable.

The days of December are filled with love and joy, happiness and peace. Gifts of love, so many given everyday.

This year give gifts of hope, love, peace and joy. Give gifts of happiness, laughter and delight. Give gifts of compassion, thoughtfulness and caring. Give gifts of kind words spoken in peace and understanding. Give gifts of a warm smile, reassuring touch and sharing of self. Gifts of beauty, gifts of miracles.

All these gifts have one thing in common, love.

In this month of gifts may we be thankful everyday for all the blessings we receive as we give gifts of love.

 Merry Christmas,

Source of Joy

Source of Joy

Inside me it was quiet all day
Outside me it was noisy all day
Inside me spirit dwells
Outside me turmoil reins
I waited until midnight for silence
For Spirit to quiet the noise of the day
Then peace descended like a blanket of stars
And joy awoke with the dawn            Lovelight

Joy is the feeling we get when everything in our life is wonderful. When we feel completely loved, healed, whole, alive. When we have great moments of rejoicing and celebration, such as a wedding or the birth of a baby. Joy comes with our first kiss, or the ecstasy of being in love. We find joy in the fulfillment of our dreams and wishes. In the understanding of living in the moment and enjoying each and everyone of those moments. Joy is in loving, sharing, caring. Joy is the moment of feeling God’s guidance, of answered prayer.

Joy feels like a bursting of happiness. A bubbling up of pure delight. A feeling of walking a few inches above the ground. As if you could fly on wings of silver light. Joy brings a feeling of deep power that knows no limits, a knowing you can do any and all things. Joy refreshes and renews and gives you a sense of complete freedom. From deep within joy springs to light and produces complete bliss. The beauty of the world rests on pure joy.

Looking at the night sky with its billions of stars, wanting to reach out and touch them or to capture the moonbeams. That feeling is joy. Be surprised by joy--cultivate joy.

And the greatest joy of all is the indescribable brightness that floods our soul when the Holy Spirit abides within. For when we know where our source of joy comes from, we can embrace the path of joy, having gratitude for all Gods blessings and for each day given us as a gift. Gratitude brings joy.

Joy is a feeling of great happiness or pleasure, elevated to the heights of elation. And when we know that our source of joy comes from the Holy Spirit, our joy can soar to the heights of ecstasy.

Summer Rain

“Rain is grace; Rain is the sky condescending to the earth;
Without rain there would be no life”
                                                                                                               John Updike

Rainy days have always been a time to relax. I learned this from my mother. She would relax because she couldn’t do the wash or so many things in the rain. We would play games inside and have fun. Mom would make stews and fresh bread and cinnamon piecrust. We would laugh, sing songs, and tell ghost stories. So of course I carried this forward with my own children. They would line up the chairs in a row for a train and cover the table with a blanket for a cave. In fact one of my sons was so afraid of the thunder that he would insist on the covered table to hide under--with the dog!

Whenever I feel a need to change my life due to stress or problems I always wish for a rainy day. And if I can not wish one up, I pretend and relax anyway. Over my lifetime I have learned to be creative at finding things to do for my rainy days things that truly help me to relax, take stock of my life, and renew my energy and joy.

However, thinking you can relax only when it rains or when you can’t do anything else, is not really the point. Relaxing is a way of life. We should take time every day to relax. Take time every day for our needs. Taking even a few moments each day to relax and enjoy our lives--to make a “rainy day” event happen with a soothing cup of tea, for instance, will help us to find peace and contentment and allow us to renew ourselves.

The happiest heart that ever beat was in some quiet breast
That found the common daylight sweet, And left to Heaven the rest.
                                                                                                  John V. Cheney

Renew thyself completely each day; do it again, and again, and forever again.
Chinese inscription cited by Thoreau in Walden

Early Morning

Early in the morning I sat peacefully in my lawn chair nestled among the trees and flowering plants in my garden, watching the many varieties of birds come to feed, humming birds flitting, white puffy clouds floating along, breeze caressing my skin and enjoying  my cup of fresh coffee flavored with cinnamon and other spices.

 Peace, quiet, contentment.

I realize that it does not matter what problems the day might bring, or world strife, or decisions and adjustments to be made,                 THIS MOMENT in time is perfect.

And I give thanks.

“ This is the day that God has made, rejoice and be glad of it”

Rejoice! What a wonderful word. Rejoice and have joy.!!!

Living Life

Life is meant to be lived so every moment is precious, happy, and joyful. Life asks us to strive for meaningful pursuits, to allow us to reach back to yesterday pulling forward the good, to see God’s creation in all things and to lean forward to see tomorrow with joyful anticipation. Life moves from one place to the next, continually changing, continually bringing joys and sorrows. What we make of those joys and sorrows gives us our life.

Within each of us is the strength and fortitude to live life to its fullest potential. We just have to reach out and grasp what is there waiting to bring us joy.

Live life! Believe in it and it will reward you with sunshine and happiness if you learn to look for the positive aspect of each day. Start each day with anticipation and expectation of all the many gifts you will receive as the day unfolds.

“This is the day that God had made, Rejoice and be glad of it”

Summer Delights

A dragonfly alights on a stalk of grass,
Blowing in the summer meadow

A lonely oak stands on a hill,
 Arms reaching to the sky

Golden light skims across the pond,
As pollywogs wiggle near shore.

The sun is shinning for our joy,
As soft summer breezes play on our faces.

Birdsong flies unfettered over green fields and azure sky

Glorious summer flowers bloom in profusion,
Lighting our world with rainbow-hues of color.

Laughter of children ripples like water in a brook, in innocent pleasure

The entire world is dazzling in the sunlight.

Sailing on the lake, fireworks in July,
Picnics, barbeques and parades

Summer rain storms with awesome displays of lightening and thunder

And crimson sunsets to end our days with joy

These are the delights of summer
Touch the earth, see the sky
Delight in summer’s bounty.
