"There is a depth of truth, this depth of being that wants itself known, felt, expressed, met. It makes you want to soar, to fly on eagle wings, to master your own dreams, to find true freedom. To create a masterpiece of life. Take all the pieces of life and create a new quilt. One that shines with love and light."

Joy & Jubilee

Joy on left, Jubilee on right

Jubilee

He has his full coloring now, you can not see it very well but he has little white dots in his orange feathers on his wings.  He sings all day.  It is sort of a beep and a trill.  Very different from the finches that are outside in the yard.  When I come close to the cage and talk to him he will listen and then turn his head like he is trying to understand the noises I am making.  Joy just ignores me.

Joy on right

She is silver with just a few dark feathers in her tail.  She stays glued to his side most of the time.
Sometimes he will get into the swing which only holds one and she wants to get in with him, but he squawks at her.  I think he wants to be alone.

joy is silver blond

Isn't he cute!
I am having fun with them and they really are more company then you would think.

Ode To Spring!

Oh, the wonder and expectation
Of the dawn of spring
Which bursts forth in silence
Unnoticed by any eye.
Then one pleasant spring morning
A miraculous change occurs
Which shines a light of glorious radiance
On mountain and meadow
Countryside and farm
Of verdant green horizons
And blossoms scattering in the breeze.

The robins song of happiness
Bees buzzing with delight
Mossy green hidden places
Wildflowers in rainbow colors
All combine to make spring
The season of joy and light.
                                                                       Lovelight

One of the great pleasures of life is spring! Spring always comes with exuberance! Bursting with all of creation in joyous renewal. It seems as if spring bursts upon us in one day of glory, for one day we wake up and everything is spring. However, in reality spring slowly emerges one small bud, shoot and leaf at a time until the blossoms and flowers burst through.

And what glory. The warmth of the sun, the flowers, blossoms, green growth, the sky of blue, the gentle spring rain, the breezes, even the feeling in the air. All bring such a feeling of renewal. Even the birds get into the act with their mating songs of joy. The sunrises come earlier in expectation of a new day.

A time of renewal for all. A time for us to begin again. To lay aside the woes and darkness of winter, the dreary days and welcome spring with a grateful heart bursting with joy. Every year the earth and all of nature renews itself, and we are meant to enjoy this renewal with heartfelt delight.

spring
This is the perfect time of year to get outside in nature and enjoy it. Nature is just waiting to bring pleasure to our eyes in a feast of delight. It is also a perfect time of year to start any new projects that you have been thinking about or planning all winter. Start a new garden, build a birdhouse, make new colorful sofa pillows, plan the perfect vacation, or just sit outside in the warm sun and pleasant breeze and soak up the healing air of spring.

Whatever you do--enjoy Spring.

When I was a child my mother always told me that spring came and all the flowers bloomed because I was born on that day-spring and it was for joy. I believed her for a very long time. My special day! But we are all born to joy and love and spring comes for all to enjoy.

Spring is God’s gift of renewal for our souls. A time given to us to see and understand His gifts and miracles of nature and renew ourselves with gratitude and thankfulness for His blessings.

Stop every now and then. Just stop and enjoy. Take a deep
breath. Relax and take in the abundance of life.

Savor Beauty

Pink and golden sunrise painting the sky

The poppies nodding in the breeze

Roses unfolding to the sun

Mountains of purple splendor rising above the plain.

The unbelievable arch of the rainbow,

Twisted canyons of red rock

Forests standing in awesome silence.

The perfect orb of the full moon,
Shinning in the night sky.

The majestic flight of the eagle,
Wings spread to the light.
Things of beauty to delight

Crystal goblets glimmering
Heavenly music to sooth our soul
The touch of silk upon our skin.
The unexpected feeling of joy,
That bubbles from your heart.
All those smiles of love and kindness
And children’s happy laughter on the air.
The touch of a baby’s hand
The delightful fragrance of baking bread

Candles glowing in the night
Things of beauty to delight.
                                           Lovelight

In this world of violence and indifference, we can help remove ourselves from those things that upset our peace and happiness by savoring beauty.

There is purity in beauty, whether it is a work of nature, art or everyday simplicity. To see the beauty in the world that surrounds us is to see God. To appreciate the depth and color of a rose or the tenderness of the tough of a hand lifted in caring is how life brings us joy. Everything has beauty.

Seek beauty as you would happiness, love or joy, for if you find the beauty in what you seek it will just increase your sense of enjoyment.

Beauty is not, just what we see with the eyes, but a sense of fineness, a glow, something we can feel and touch. It can enwrap our world with delight and awe, if we will allow ourselves to live within the midst of it. There is beauty to be found in everything and everyone. We are just so bruised and blunted we miss all the best. Beauty comes from the heart and is in the “eye of the beholder”. For everyone sees beauty differently. Savor beauty. Look for it in the center of your surroundings. In the smallest details of life. The hidden beauty will be revealed and you will find delight within your soul, which will lift you to joy.

"Beauty is one of the rare things that do not lead to doubt of God."
                                                                                                                 Jean Anouilh

"I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may, — light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful."
                                                                                      John Constable
